Tara Richardson

Senior Associate

Ms. Richardson came to Lafayette Group with experience in project management, policy development, and public sector outreach.  She served in the California Governor’s office in various capacities to improve government outreach, efficiency, and effectiveness. Her past experience in the private sector included business development and technology innovation.

Representing Lafayette Group in California, Ms. Richardson focuses on homeland security, law enforcement, intelligence, and communications issues.  As a California-native, Ms. Richardson has worked on intelligence coordination issues at the State, regional, and local level. She is responsible for programs in terrorism prevention and training, intelligence coordination, and communications interoperability. Ms. Richardson has also represented Lafayette Group on multiple projects for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She developed the DHS Technical Assistance program for intelligence liaison officers and supervised a team of experts who conducted classroom training and on-site assistance. Ms. Richardson has been assigned to support the Office of the Secretary at DHS, where she prepared policy and curriculum materials to counter violent extremism, including police training programs. Ms. Richardson holds a degree in International Politics from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, with a concentration on International Law and Organization.
