2017 Adopt-a-Family Program Participation

January 10, 2018

In 2017, Lafayette Group continued its annual tradition, which first started in 2011, of participating in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family Program. The company’s involvement in the program, designed to help families in need, started with the adoption of one family, who were overwhelmed by the generosity and support extended by staff and management. It is also a great team-building opportunity for the Lafayette Group staff, which includes gift wrapping training. This year, the team added a friendly game for the wackiest holiday sweater, which was adored by many. A sloth hanging off a candy cane swept the competition.

In the past several years, Lafayette Group has been paired with two families and the Salvation Army coordinator forwards us a specific list of items for each member of the family. This year, like years past, we well exceeded expectations; not only were all the necessities on the lists obtained (e.g. coats, shoes, hats, diapers) but Lafayette Group staff went above and beyond to provide several gifts that would normally be out of reach for the families. As Lafayette Group family continues to grow, we look forward to expanding our involvement with the program’s families.
