Lafayette Group Supports DC Office of Unified Communications Cache Program

Lafayette Group has been supporting the District of Columbia Office of Unified Communications (OUC) since March 2016. Over the past year, Lafayette Group provided communications interoperability training courses for first responders across the National Capitol Region (NCR). This spring, Lafayette Group is supporting OUC in reviewing and updating its communications equipment cache program. The District is a member of the NCR Cache Team, providing communications interoperability equipment to agencies throughout the region for planned events and emergencies. The OUC maintains and deploys DC’s team and equipment for such events.

On March 16-17, the Lafayette Group team supported the OUC in hosting a meeting to discuss the cache’s current use, gaps, and future needs. With regular planned events (e.g., Presidential Inaugurations, marathons, large conferences) occurring in the District, the DC Cache Team wanted to ensure all operational policies and procedures were aligned with regional best practices and helping the team deploy as efficiently and effectively as possible. Representatives from the DC, MD, and VA cache programs attended the March meeting to support the project and share information from their own states. Additionally, Lafayette Group conducted a full equipment inventory and capabilities assessment.
