Lafayette Group Supports Nationwide SCIP Workshops

September 1, 2016

Lafayette Group is also providing support to OEC to plan and deliver 29 Statewide Communications Interoperability Plan (SCIP) Workshops in FY16.  On July 6, Lafayette Group staff supported the Idaho SCIP Workshop in Boise, where we worked with the Statewide Interoperability Coordinator and emergency communications stakeholders to review the current status of their governance structure and update 14 SCIP goals and initiatives.  Following the workshop, the Ada County 9-1-1 Director took the SCIP team on a tour of their new 9-1-1 center which will open at the end of this calendar year.

The Lafayette Group ICTAP team recently supported state and local communications coordination for the Republican and Democratic National Conventions in Cleveland, OH and Philadelphia, PA.  Our subject matter experts (SMEs) have attended monthly meetings, participated in weekly calls, and reviewed communications plans with the planning committees from both Cleveland and Philadelphia.  Our team helped to develop a Communications ConsOps Plan for the Philadelphia area first responders at the DNC.  We also deployed one SME to the RNC convention to support the Incident Command Center.  Working closely with the on-site teams of federal, state, and local officials, Lafayette Group SMEs provided guidance based on supporting previous political conventions (e.g., RNC in Tampa) and other major events.
