SAFECOM Nationwide Survey (SNS) Expected to Launch September 2017

May 11, 2017

Lafayette Group is supporting the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) National Planning Team in the development of the 2017 SAFECOM Nationwide Survey (SNS). This effort will collect data that drives our nation’s emergency communications policies, programs, and funding. The survey will be deployed for a 30-day period in September 2017, and will target emergency response provider organizations at the federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal levels of government.

The SNS will help government officials and emergency responders better understand emergency communications needs; its successful execution depends on widespread outreach to the community and requires extensive coordination with key public safety partners among federal, state, local, territorial and tribal governments, as well as appropriate messaging to all audiences. In this stage of the SNS development process, Lafayette Group’s support is focused on assisting OEC’s communications effort to obtain the target response rates for each level of government. A large part of this support is to coordinate communications activities among the various OEC branches to ensure a unified and transparent communications strategy.
