Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement

Congress enacted the Communications Assistance to Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) in 1994 to help law enforcement agencies conduct electronic surveillance.  Lafayette Group provides planning and technical support to the FBI for the implementation of CALEA in the FBI national program office that is responsible for court-ordered interception of communications. Lafayette Group previously worked with agencies using intercept technology, which is still utilized by every major law enforcement agency nationwide to prevent crime, drug trafficking and terrorism.
