National Emergency Communications Plan Analysis- NJ

In January 2012, the New Jersey Office of Information Technology contracted with Lafayette Group to conduct an analysis of the State’s National Emergency Communications Plan Goal 2 exercise scores and provide an overview of the current status of interoperable communications in the State.  Lafayette Group reviewed capability measures, which align to the five lanes of the SAFECOM Interoperability Continuum (i.e., governance, standard operating procedures, training and exercises, usage, and technology) to provide a comprehensive look at emergency communications within each county.  Through a combination of face-to-face meetings, conference calls, and continuous communication with regional leadership, Lafayette Group worked closely with local stakeholders and provided them with opportunities to provide input and review the assessed challenges, ensuring the best possible solutions were proposed.
