Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) Grant Program

Lafayette Group provided overall program support to the Public Safety Interoperable Communications (PSIC) grant program.  Administered by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) in consultation with FEMA, PSIC is a $1 billion grant program designed to enhance interoperable communications nationwide.  Over the course of the grant program, Lafayette Group has collaborated closely with grantees from all 56 States and Territories to support all aspects of the program, including grantee assistance and monitoring, site visit support, data analysis, outreach and public affairs support, conference support, program management, and strategic planning.  Lafayette Group also supported the development and release of the initial grant guidance and the PSIC Program Management Handbook, as well as assisted in coordinating and facilitating the peer review and Federal approval process of project initiatives.  In addition, Lafayette Group developed the PSIC Investment Data Analysis Report and its related interactive online mapping tool to serve as the baseline for measuring PSIC’s impact on interoperable communications nationwide.  For a comprehensive collection of publicly available PSIC documentation developed by Lafayette Group, see the U.S. Department of Commerce NTIA PSIC website (http://www.ntia.doc.gov/legacy/psic/index.html).
