Pete MacVean


Mr. Peter MacVean brings thirty-four years of law enforcement security and twenty-five years of DEA experience to Lafayette Group. Mr. MacVean is a career DEA agent and a former local police officer who specialized in international narcotics enforcement and security. During his tenure with the DEA, Mr. MacVean directed the first conversion of DEA’s regional radio system. He has also managed radio systems and multi-agency task forces. He has served as the Chief of Security for the DEA, liaison to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), and Chairman of the DEA field agent’s board. As Chairman, Mr. MacVean was responsible for supervision of technicians, management of enforcement operations, and preparation of security and technology budgets.

At Lafayette Group, Mr. MacVean has continued his work in intelligence and communications. As a Subject Matter Expert working with the Homeland Security Information Network (HSIN) Program, Mr. MacVean supports State and local efforts as the HSIN Field Representative in Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Mr. MacVean works closely with Federal, State and local agencies and officials in developing communication and information systems in States across the Nation. He also supported ICTAP as an evaluator during the communications tactical validation exercises in 2006.
