POLICY ANALYSIS & PLANNING

Lafayette Group provides in-depth planning and policy analysis assistance to government agencies across the country. Our proven planning methods help each agency identify and document key goals and initiatives, milestones, timelines, operational policies, and equipment rules of use. Whether it is a plan to prevent terrorism, detect cyber-attacks before they occur, or establish standard operating procedures for communications across disciplines, our team supports both strategic and tactical planning efforts across various topics. Lafayette Group also offers evaluation services to Federal, State, local, and tribal agencies to ensure the success of public service policies and programs.  Through the collection and analysis of data, policy directives, and procedures, Lafayette Group identifies weaknesses and provides progressive solutions to ensure continual and improved progress.  

Lafayette Group is at the forefront of communications-specific tactical planning efforts. We supported the DHS Office of Emergency Communications (OEC) in establishing the original Tactical Interoperable Communications Plan (TICP) template; Lafayette Group has since helped more than 75 urban areas, counties, and regions develop their plans. Likewise, we support States develop and update their strategic Statewide Communication Interoperability Plans (SCIP). Our staff assists States in identifying, updating, and implementing their communications-focused strategic goals and initiatives. We support SCIP workshops designed to bring the key decision makers together to discuss communications gaps and ways to implement and improve their strategic initiatives.

Lafayette Group supports a variety of policy analysis services, including assessing the planning and execution of local terrorism preparedness and response programs. Examples include our support of the DHS Office of Intelligence and Analysis (I&A) as it works to bolster the National Network of Fusion Centers.  Lafayette Group provides staff support to the Major Cities Chiefs association, consisting of the 68 largest police agencies in the Nation. This work including policy development, technology support, intergovernmental liaison, research, reports and publications.
